Vibers is a bioplastic made from, among other things, Elephant Grass. Partly because of this, the plates are biobased and biodegradable. This means that it is made from organic products and breaks down in nature. Elephant grass captures four times more CO2 than trees and does not require irrigation, fertilizers or pesticides. This makes it a very sustainable crop that also grows in the Netherlands. The sheets are easy to process, but bioplastic is generally not suitable for long-term outdoor use. Of our different bioplastics, Vibers has the most natural look and feel.
Applications of Vibers
In terms of properties, Vibers bioplastic is very similar to foamed PVC, so it is an excellent biological substitute. The plates are used as POS material, signage at festivals and events and for interior applications. Due to the editability and quality of the plates, it is suitable for many applications.
Vibers sheets are available per piece. They are available in the colors natural, white and black, but also in other colours for large quantities. Work with Vibers
As mentioned earlier, this kind of bioplastic is very easy to process. Editing options include: lasering, punching, sawing, drilling and printing. This makes it very suitable as material for the sign industry. In addition, the plates are suitable for vacuum forming. The recommended temperature for vacuum forming is 70-100°C. Vibers can react differently with vacuum forming than other plastics, so it’s a good idea to test this first.
Vibers is a circular product. The sustainable elephant grass is processed into biobased granulate. Then the plates are made from this. These can then, for example, be printed and used as advertising. The plates are then collected or returned after use and recycled or composted. The recycled sheets can be reused and the compost can be used for the plants.
