Description
Mellanyl sheet white
Mellanyl® sheets are made of PLA. PLA is a lactic acid made from corn residue. Mellanyl is biodegradable and biocompatible. This means that the sheets are compostable under non-industrial conditions. It is an impact-resistant and machinable sheet with a hard surface. The sheets can also be printed, so are suitable for, for example, p.o.s. applications. The sheets are semi-glossy on both sides. the material also looks a lot like our Terranyl© sheets but the surface is more rigid and stronger.
Applications of mellanyl sheet
In terms of properties, the mellanyl sheets are very similar to the plastic Polystyrene. This makes it extremely suitable as a replacement for this material. Some applications for mellanyl sheets are: POS equipment, signage, festivals and events. The sheets are therefore used often in the sign industry. In addition, it can be used for interior applications.
Stock
Mellanyl sheets come in the colours white and black. The standard sizes are 1000x600mm and 1200x1000mm. Furthermore, the sheets are available in 1mm to 3mm per colour and size. If you need a different size or colour, please contact us. Then we will see what we can do for you.
Work with mellanyl sheet
Mellanyl sheets are very easy to process. The processing options include sawing, drilling, gluing and printing. In addition, the sheets can be mechanically connected and can be vacuum formed easily. All this makes the sheet suitable for advertising material in shops.
Circular product
The mellanyl sheets are a circular product. Sheets are made from the corn starch granulate at a lower temperature than standard plastic. This is better for CO2 emissions. The sheets are then used in, for example, a shop. The sheets are then collected and recycled or composted. The compost can be used again to grow new corn. As icing on the cake, these sheets are also completely manufactured in the Netherlands, so this contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions from transport.
