Terranyl sheets

Terranyl® is a bio-based and biodegradable bioplastic made partly from starch recovered from wastewater generated by the potato processing industry. By using this residual stream as a raw material, Terranyl contributes to a more circular use of resources while significantly reducing CO₂ emissions compared to conventional plastics.

Terranyll is certified with the Vinçotte 3 Star Quality Mark, meaning it is compostable under home composting conditions without the need for industrial composting facilities.

Applications

Terranyl offers properties comparable to Polystyrene and foamed PVC, making it an excellent sustainable alternative for a wide range of applications. Terranyl sheets are widely used in the sign-making industry for products such as shelf strips, point-of-sale displays and promotional signage, and is also suitable for creative applications such as puzzles.

Sizes and Availability

Terranyl sheets are individually available in standard sizes of 1000x600mm and 1200x1000mm, with thicknesses of 1 mm and 2 mm. Standard colours are White, Yellow, Green, Natural and Orange. Other sizes and larger production runs are available on request – contact us.

Processing

Terranyl is an easy-to-process bioplastic that can be cut, glued, sawn, drilled and printed using conventional fabrication methods. The material is also suitable for vacuum forming, providing designers and manufacturers with a high degree of flexibility for a wide range of applications.

A Circular Material

Terranyl is designed with circularity in mind. Starch recovered from the potato processing industry is converted into a bio-based granulate, which is then used to manufacture Terranyl sheets. After use, the Terranyl sheets can be collected and either recycled into new products or composted under suitable conditions.
